Please bring your passport and Name & Address identity documents. The forms must be filled correctly or the Organisation will be charged a fee for correction.

3.     Mahashivratri Bhajans - all night bhajans, organised jointly with Narborough Centre. Programme starts at 9:00 so please arrive by 8:45 at the latest. Bhajan practice today at East West Centre from 3:00 to 5:00 - all welcome as this is a 'drop in session'.

1.     Bhajans practice on Wednesday at Soar Valley

3.     Mahashivratri Bhajans - all night bhajans, organised jointly with Narborough Centre. Bhajan practice toady at East West Centre from 3:00 to 5:00 - all welcome as this is a 'drop in session'.

4.     New Committee - New activities for the centre for 2007/2008. Please forward your ideas via the form being handed out after bhajans. This is a suggestion sheet and the Committee will review all your suggestions e.g. do we want more bhajan practice sessions.

6.     Meals on Wheels service - if anyone is interested in joining/helping with this service then please see Kusumben Patel after bhajans.

7.     Navinbhai gave a brief talk on their recent visit to Swami. This was for all ex-students of Swami, and Navinbhai had taken a booklet of our Centre's activities. This was 'studied' by Swami and Swami was very interested in the work of our Centre - a blessing indeed.

Announcements for Sunday 8 October 2006

 

1.     Bhajans practice on Wednesday at Thompson Close

2.     National Spiritual Conference on 29 October at Athena Centre in Leicester. This is a special conference will distinguished speakers - Ajitbhai Popat, Dr Upadhya - and special musical programme & Bhajans. The event has been organised by the Sai Students. Entry to the event is by tickets only so please give you names at the Information Desk for more information.

3.     Diwali Celebrations on Sunday 22 October. We will have Aankot prasadam - please give your names to Kiranben if you are interested in helping with the Aankot prasadam.

4.     A few members of our Centre visited Zambia last month to discuss service opportunities with Dr Victor Kanu. Dr Victor Kanu suggested that there is opportunity for our Centre to help in Sierra Leone, and with a medical camp planned by Dr Upadhya. Further details will be provided shortly on this service activity.

The Bhajans were followed by a number of Sai Students relating their experiences with Swami and a Q&A session.

4.     Sathya Sai School in Leicester (Belper Street), is holding an open day on Saturday 24th June from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  This is to invite devotees to the School and see the progress made in the last 5 years.  We urge all devotees to visit the School on Saturday.

5.     Sathya Sai Education in Human Values, which teaches not only SSEHV but also promotes inner self development.  The course will be conducted from Sunday 23rd July to Tuesday 1st August, from 10 am to 4 pm.  For more information and to register on the course, please contact Shirishbhai Patel.

1. Bhajan Practice for Group A on Wednesday at Thompson Close.

2. Sathya Sai School are looking for new venues. For more information see the letter on the Information Board.

3. The SaiNet project is going well with a large number of mosquito nets already distributed bearing on it "Love All Serve All". For more information see Information Board.

4. Sai Retreat has been cancelled this year due to the venue is being renovated.

5. There is a Medical Camp due to take place in Russia. Medical staff are needed to volunteer for this service. Please give your names to Arvindbhai by the 12th June.

6. If you are interested in going on a Food Hygiene course, we can organise one. Please give your names at the Information Desk.

7. There is a Gents Retreat on the 1st and 2nd July at Beaumanor Hall. For more information, please see Bipinbhai at the Gents Retreat Exhibition stand.

8. SSEHV Foundation training course will be held from 23rd July to 1st August 2006 at Soar Valley College, this course is equivalent to an "A"  Level qualification. The children of those parents attending will be looked after by trained SSEVH personnel. For more information see Shirishbhai Patel.

2.         Today UK Council has arranged for Dr Kalyan Rai  to come & speak to devotees about "Sainet Project". Dr Kalyan Rai is an International Speaker, who is on the United Nations Health Committee. He is the pioneer in Kenya who started this programme. He has spoken in Prashanti, and was recently blessed by Swami with an interview.

Time is 11:00 today (until 2:00) at Ram Mandir, downstairs hall. All are requested to attend.

Announcements for 12th February 2006

3.                   Service group is going to help Bob at Wellingborough.  They are going at 9.15 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 18th February.  More details from Dilipbhai or Vinodbhai.

4.                   Regional Active Workers conference this year is on the 25th February. At Coventry.  Starting at 9.15 a.m. to 5 p.m.  If you wish to come, please give your names at the Information Desk.

5.                   National Youth pilgrimage this November.  The first meeting is on the 18th February at Harrow in the evening at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Youth who wish to go on this pilgrimage, are advised to attend the satsang.

6.                   Youth of the Centre have started vedam practice for Shivratri.  Adults who wish to learn and join are invited to come.  They are meeting today at 12:30 in a classroom downstairs.

7.                   A letter was read out about the Sainet project, which has come from Ishverbhai Patel.  The project was launched in Kenya to save the poor and vulnerable from malaria.  The object is to support the International Roll Back Malaria initiative.  The aim is to provide insecticide treated mosquito nets, with the message “Love All Serve All inscribed on the nets.  For more information speak to Arvindbhai.

8.                   SSEHV Parenting will commence on the 5th March.  If anyone is interested, there are still spaces available.

9.                   There is a workshop on Soham Meditation on the 11th March at Soar Valley College from 10 to 5 p.m.  The workshop will be conducted by Bro. Chand (from London) and lunch is provided.  Anyone interested please put your names down at the Information Desk.

Today Aum Namo Shivaya was for one of our youth, Vishal Topiwala who passed away yesterday. 

 

1.         Next week is Youth bhajans.  They will have practice on Saturday.

 

2.         Next Sunday 22nd January we have a special workshop on “Form and Formless” conducted by Himansubhai from Region 2.  To be sure of number of people attending, please give your names to Morarbhai at the Information Desk so that appropriate facilities can be made for meals, etc.  Your cooperation in this matter will be much appreciated.

 

3.         Those who have not collected Swami’s 80th birthday calendar, can still do so today.  Please take one per family.

Announcements for 8 January 2006

1. Bhajan Group B for next Sunday. Practice as normal on Wednesday at 7.30.

Bhajan singers must come prepared with their bhajans to the practice.

2. Calendars are here. Please take one per family.

3. Earthquake in Pakistan/India - Islamic Relief in Birmingham is asking for blankets. We have decided to collect blankets for the next next 4 weeks. Please can you bring new or used blankets to the Centre, or at Dilipbhai Patel or Vinodhai Patel's house. The blankets will be delivered to Birmingham.

4. On 22nd January there is a workshop at this Centre after bhajans. The theme is Worship God With Form and Formless. The workshop will run from 10.30 to 1.30 and lunch is provided.

(Morarbhai Patel - There are 2 modes of worshipping God - with form and without form. We all need to move from FORM to FORMLESS, by removing our attachment. This workshop will be looking at how we do this.

5. Email received from a group who visited Swami from S California. The group members asked Swami why can you not cure yourself. Swami said this would be selfish. If you want to cure me, then chant the Gayatri mantra.

The group members did so and the result was that Swami stood and walked in the veranda.

1.         Regional Celebrations of Swami’s 80th Birthday will be 19th November at Ramgarhia Hall.  The programme is between 12.45 to 6 p.m.

 

3.         There is a Ladies Service Meeting next Sunday 6th  November after bhajans.  The meeting is about 3 major events; Akhand Bhajans and Birthday celebrations on 19th November and 23rd November.  Further information at the Information Desk.

Announcements for Sunday 6 November 2005

 

1.      Akhand Bhajans on Saturday 12 November from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm at Soar Valley College, then from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am (Sunday) at East West Community Centre. Everyone welcome to join in. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including lunch & evening meal.

2.  Swami's 80th Birthday will be celebrated regionally on the 19th November at Ramgarhia Hall.

     Meeting immediately after the bhajans to discuss service activities - see Kusumben.

     Full rehearsal on Friday 11 Nov at Ramgarhia Hall from 6:30 to 9:30.

Akhand Bhajans 

Arvindbhai said that Akhand bhajans will be conducted for 12 hours on Saturday 12th November from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Soar Valley College.

 

The Schedule is as follows:

 

9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Adults Centre Singers

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Open to everyone

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. SSE

2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Narborough Centre

3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nottingham Centre

4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Open to everyone

6 p.m. to 7p.m. Adults Centre Singers

7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Youth

 

For the next 12 hours, Narborough Centre are conducting Akhand bhajans at East West Centre, Wilberforce Road.  This will be from Saturday 12th 9 p.m. to Sunday 13th 9 a.m.  We have been given the following slots on Sunday 13th 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. Bharat & Laxman Service Groups.  From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. it will be Youth and Adults.  Everyone is welcome to attend throughout in both venues.

 

If you want to sing in the general slots, you must put your name down.  If your name is not on the list, you will not be allowed to sing.  Also we need tabla and harmonium players, so please come forward and give your names to Arvindbhai.

1.      Swami’s 80th Birthday home bhajans - on Monday at Naynaben Pancholi's Kamlaben's home in Stonehaven Road and on Friday at Pravinaben Badina's home in Atherstone Close.

2.      Bhajans at Balubhai's home tonight - Bonsall Street.

3.   Swami's 80th Birthday will be celebrated regionally on the 19th November at Ramgarhia Hall. Help required for cake - please see Kusumben. (NOTE - Please see Jasuben Patel or Deepa Joshi if you are able to help).

4.  Diwali will be celebrated next Sunday (30th October). Full programme of Bhajans, Competitions, SSE Presentations, talk on Diwali, followed by Lunch. Programme will finish at 1:30.

5.  Akhand Bhajans this year will be on Saturday 12 November from 9:00 am  to 9:00 pm i.e. 12 Hours at Soar Valley College. . Those wishing to continue can attend Bhajans at East West Community Centre after 9:00 pm.

Announcements for Sunday 16 October 2005

 

 

  1. Continuing with the 80 Days bhajans, this week it will be at:

Ø      On Monday 17th L Patel – Hazelwood Road, Leicester

Ø      On Friday 21st  S Kotecha – Munnings Close Leicester

 

2.      As in the Guru Purnima celebrations at Prashanti Nilayam, when the Sai Symphony Orchestra performed in the presence of Swami, we have had a letter from Dr. Goldstein that the Orchestra will also be performing on Swami’s 80th Birthday.  If there are any musicians who are interested in joining the Orchestra, please see Arvindbhai Patel. 

 

3.      There is a Medical Camp going to Jodhpur shortly, with medical professionals and materials.  On Sunday 23rd October medical materials will be packaged.  Anyone who wish to help with the packing process are welcome to attend, the time is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be at 34 Alton Gate, Milton Keynes.  For further information see Arvindbhai Patel.

 

4.      Bharat Service Group, which is one of the service groups in this Centre, have organised a Sadhana session for Saturday 22nd October at Ram Mandir.  The sadhana will be from 3.45 to 12 midnight and evening meal will be provided.

 

5.      Diwali celebrations will be on Sunday 30th October.  The programme will consist of bhajans, speaker, SSE presentation and lunch.  All welcome.

 

6.      On the notice board there is a UKCC newsletter, which is available for viewing but please do not take it away.

 

7.      On the 19th November we will be celebrating Swami’s 80th Birthday at Ram Gadhia Hall as a Regional event.  One of the items being practiced is a musical medley by the Narborough Centre.  If anyone wants to join the medley, please contact Arunbhai Gohil (Narborough Centre Chair).

 

8.      For the Regional Birthday celebrations, Pratibhaben Patel said that we have been given the task of portraying the first 16 years of Swami.  This will be in the form of a procession, where the children will do some sketches and props need to be made.  This procession will be a mix of children and adults, so all Centre members are encouraged to take part in this activity.

 

9.      On 23rd November, we as a Centre will be celebrating Swami’s 80th birthday.  In the morning from 6 to 8 a.m. we will be at Ram Mandir, downstairs hall and will have suprabhatham, bhajans and breakfast.  In the evening from 7 to 9.30 p.m. we will have a birthday programme at Soar Valley College.

 

10.  Today there will be a study circle after bhajans in Room 1.  Morarbhai gave an introduction to it by saying it is a continuation to the last session.  The topic is still the mind, on concentration, meditation, what is mind, how to control it and so on.  Morarbhai gave Swami’s example of a key and a lock.  The mind being the key, so that if turn it the right way, it will take you to God and liberation, but if you go the other way, it will take you towards worldly desires, pain and so on.  A PowerPoint presentation has been prepared by Pravinbhai Lad and this will assist the discussions.  The session will also include the removal of the mind from the outer world by Thakorbhai Patel.  All welcome.
